OSD Task Sequence Environment?
Hi, I'm just wondering if we should expect different behaviour between advertising a package and installing it on a Windows 7 client and including the exact same package in an OSD Task Sequence? The reason I ask is because we have packaged up Visual Studio 2010. It installs fine when we advertise it to a client - BUT when we include the package in an OSD TS, the smsts.log reports an exit code 0 / Install Successful - yet Visual Studio is not present on the OS once the TS has finished. Is there anything regarding the environment that packages get installed in during the OSD TS that could catch us out? Thanks, Jay

In general no. Your best bet is to have the application install produce a verbose install log and see what it does. When you say its not installed, is that based on shortcuts not in the StartMenu, Programs and Features, the file system? Have you examined each of these?Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
