OSD DEPLOYMENT QUESTION
Hi all, Does SCCM support to use install.wim from original installable CD? or we need to capture a install.wim from Operating System Install Package Thanks. Roger

Hi, You can use the original install.wim as a operating System Install Package. As an image i would not use it... I have had some weir beheaviour the like the OS being on the D:\ drive (this is explained somewhere on the technet blogs). K

Hi, I strongly recommend that you do create your own image, then you can add all the hotfixes required and any other modification you need in the image which will speed up the OS deployment process. Regards, Jörgen-- My System Center blog ccmexec.com -- Twitter @ccmexec

The best practise is to create a Build and Capture Task Sequence to create your WIM image, this captured WIM image can then be deployed via a separate Deploy Task Sequence, I've described the entire process from start to finish below:- Using SCCM 2007 Sp2 to deploy Windows 7 Deploy 7 (4 parts) cheers niall My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
