Notification Subscription, using custom field as criteria not working in CU6
Thanks Bob, and Nicolas also I also created a simply rule and matching notification, with the notification criteria being with specific text in custom field etc, no joy. Since I posted this I built SCOM 2007 R2 CU6 in a test lab, and the notification work OK, therefore this rules out CU6 as the issue. Therefore I will now check export and check out the XML in the "Notifications Internal Library" i.e. should be as follows <SimpleExpression xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <ValueExpression> <Property>CustomField8</Property> </ValueExpression> I know there was an issue (I think it was in CU2) with the XML not matching the field name in the database. I was wondering, we have a very busy system with around 650 agents and 4 MS, we have lots of custom rules/monitors an in the order of 25 subscriptions with various criteria. I am moving the databases to a faster database server in the next week or two. I wounder if when the Database Server is very busy (there are several other instances and databases in this Server) that SCOM would possible miss a Notification where several criteria have to be evaluated, I will do some more digging. Thanks Ernie

Hello, I recently upgraded to SCOM 2007 R2 "CU6" I have noticed (may be a coincidence with CU6 but was working before) that Notification subscriptions no longer work (at least in my management group) where the criteria include "with specific text in custom field" Has anyone seem this before? (I am not using wild cards of any thing like that) Any advise most welcome Thanks Ernie

Hi Ernie, I have not seen that yet with CU6. You could use the tricks we tried before when dealing with a similar thing in CU2 (I know you have found these already). FIrst try to disable all subscriptions and re-enable them again. See what happens.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My Blog about SCOM) - MVP 2012 and Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Recipient

Hi, Please see if it is the issue: E-mail notification messages are not sent when you use the "With specific text in description" option in Operations Manager 2007 R2 or in Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978359 SCOM R2 - Subscription Criteria - with specific text in the description http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanagergeneral/thread/2bfeda44-f6c5-419e-8e14-983bf7d39df8/ Meanwhile, please check the Event Log on the management sever; if there is any related error, please also let us know the details.
