Not able to upload multiple documents (WSS 3.0)
Hi everyone, just hoping for some help here as this has me stumped. Scenario: We are trying to give access to several people outside our organization. Created several pages for them to upload documents/images through the internet, when they log in they can upload single documents successfully. When they go Actions Menu -> Upload Multiple Documents they are brought to the multiple document upload screen. They choose the files they want to upload, a dialog box pop's up - you are about to upload x file(s) to xxxx.xxxx.com do you want to continue. They click yes and immediately the upload dialog box flashes, they are then redirected to the document library without the documents there. The open in explorer doesn't work as well. Specs: Using ISA 2006 and Server 2003 R2 WSS 3.0 Service Packs/updates current as of this posting Enable client integration has need turned on Web Client service is on Uploaded different files (jpg, doc, xls, xlsx etc) Tried doing this on a Windows XP/7 machine with Office 2003 Pro, Office 2007 Pro Used IE 6,7,8 Appreciate the help, Simon

Hi Raffaele, The URL was added to the trusted sites, we do not get the same error while uploading on LAN. Ahmed: Internal URL | Zone | Public URL http://public:9180 | default | http://public:9180 (Central administration) http://public | default | http://public (SharePoint - 80) Regards, Simon

Hi Simon, try to disable 2 options in the HTTP filter in ISA: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc713327.aspxLook this: Configure the HTTP Filter To configure the HTTP filter, perform the following steps: Right-click the Web publishing rule you created, and select Configure HTTP. On the General tab, clear the Verify normalization check box. If you are using a language containing high bit characters (for example, the umlaut mark in German) you should also clear the Block high bit characters check box. Note: The Verify normalization and Block high bit characters options are meant to address potential security exploits. When you disable these features, you are potentially creating an opening for malicious users. Bye bye.Raffa!

Hi, If your WSS has installed the latest version, I suspect the problem is caused by ISA configuration. Assume the following:External client requests come in on https://external.test.com (port 443)ISA forwards the request to http://internal.test.com (port 80)1. In WSS you should have a host header in place for http://internal.test.com2. To set the correct alternate access mapping (AAM) run the following three commands:a. stsadm -o addalternatedomain -url http://internal.test.com -incomingurl http://internal.test.com -urlzone extranetb. stsadm -o addzoneurl -url http://internal.test.com -zonemappedurl https://external.test.com -urlzone extranetc. IISreset In ISA the properties should be set as follows:1. On the Link Translation tab you should not need to set anything. Make sure the "Apply link translation to this rule" is disabled.2. On the Bridging tab check the "Redirect request to HTTP port" option. Enter port "80" in the box.3. On the "To" tab a. enter http://internal.test.com in the "This rule applies to this published site" box.b. Uncheck the "Forward the original host header instead of the actual one"c. Select the "Requests appear to come from the ISA Server computer"4. On the Public Name tab you should enter "external.test.com"5. The Paths tab should be populated automatically with the following Internal Paths if you used the SharePoint publishing wizarda. /_vti_inf.html*b. /_vti_bin/*c. /_upresources/*d. /_layouts/*e. /* Hope this helps. Hi Raffaele,Would that be for HTTP only? we are using HTTPS and there doesn't seem to be an option for itThanks,Simon Hi,you said , you are using HTTPS , but in the above configure of your AAMhttp://public | default | http://public (SharePoint - 80)this incorrect configuration , so you need to make your public url as https://public and the url which redirected from ISA to your sharepoint farm as internal url , try to make the followinghttps://public | default | https://public (SharePoint - 80)http://public | default | https://public (SharePoint - 80)Best Regrads, Ahmed Madany

If your WSS has installed the latest version, I suspect the problem is caused by ISA configuration. (etc.) Still the same problem, though I think it's more related to the AAM, I'll have a look and tinker around with that. Thanks Simon

Just to add, what would be the total size of documents?Coz multiple upload option takes all the documents while calculating maximum size uploaded.Check if this is the case, you mightwant to increase the Max file size upload limit.I LOVE MS..... Thanks and Regards, Kshitiz (Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.)

Sorry for the long absence - I've played around with the AAM but to no avail. I noticed something as I was uploading multiple documents I was brought to a page with an internal url; the single file upload points me to the https external one. Kshitizs: most are word documents, I would say 3mb or lower for each one. Thanks, Simon
