No performance data a Database alone
Dear All, We have a 2 node cluster Database servers, that are being monitored by SCOM 2007 R2 with CU4. Details about the monitored DB servers. OS: Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition x64 SQL: SQL server 2008 We have latest SQL management packs imported. Issue is that performance data for an application database on this cluster are not being captured by SCOM. We have other databases on the same cluster(same node) for which performance data are collected. Kindly suggest what shoould be checked. Thanks Santhosh

Hi If there is just one database on the server for which data is not being collected then I'd check the properties of that database using SQL Management Studio. Is it set to autoclose? If so, chances are the database is closed when SCOM tries to pull information about it. Also look for warning and critical events in the Operations Manager event log (one of the windows event logs for Applications and Services) Cheers GrahamRegards Graham New System Center 2012 Blog! - http://www.systemcentersolutions.co.uk View OpsMgr tips and tricks at http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/

Hi Graham, I am currently deploying SCOM 2012. If I look in OpsMgr under Monitoring > Microsoft SQL Server > Databases > Database state I see the following: If I then go to Monitoring > Microsoft SQL Server > Performance > All Performance Data and for example select all databases with the counter DB Allocated Size, I see nothing. All other counters stay empty as well.. Any idea how I can let SCOM show all the performance data? Thanks, Mark
