No assigned task sequence
Hello, I need some help to understand OSD TS, because I´m getting the menssagem "No assigned task sequence" when I try to run any TS. I´m booting from a cd the computer and I got the advertisement for the collection All Unknow computers, the thing I would like to understand more and I did not find information is about the process. For example, how should I procedure when a machine get to our support team to format, let say the machine still running the OS but is slow and the end user asked to format, this machine has the CCM client on it and is on our domain, from here that I´m beat confuse I thought that I should remove the sccm client and take the machine from or domain controller I will be able to run the TS at the collection "All Unknow computers". I´ve noticed that the TS run fine for machine that never had the sccm client installed on it, but for the machine that had some work and some not. I would like guys a beat of yours expertise to uderstand and for me implement the OSD for our support team, I was think to create some collections Like Windows XP-X86 and let the advertisemet for that collection and the support guys only move the PC to the collection and run the TS, but them came up another doubt what about the machine the arrive for us and we are not able to run the OS becuse has problem or something like that, so we will not be able to run the TS as Unknow computers? If anyone could share with me how you do at your environment I would appreciate it, and another thing that I noticed is when I create a VM to run the pilot test it works great to build the imagem but after when i go to run the task to install the OS it says there is no TS available. And smsts.log do not have error only show in red "No assigned task sequence", and I tryed as well to import as sigle computer to a specific collection and advertised to it and did not work! Thanks!!!Rodrigo Daphanis

if you want your computers assigned to a task sequence simply add them to a collection that has a task sequence advertised to it, advertising a task sequence is basically Configmgr's way of saying 'hey, I have this thing and it's available for you'. The 'you' part are the members of the Collection. I would encourage you to click on this link and work your way through the OSD guides cheers niall My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
