No Boot Action for Device (3962) found
Hi all, I'm getting this error on ONE of the clients I'm trying to PXE Boot on. This is the full message when the client tries to PXE Boot. I can't find it under any collection to 'Remove last PXE advertisment' ... We have the option to 'Deploy to unknown machines' enabled too. Much apprecaited and many thanks in advance. Matt

Under the 'All Uknown Computers' there is two subacategory's for x86 and x64 machines and they both have all our Task Sequecnes Advertised to them. Note: As above, PXE Booting is working for the majority of Computers we have. Cheers Matt

well if it's not unknown, and no advertisement is showing for it then it must be known but in a collection that has no advertisement, when you do the query for the machine, delete it, then re-add it using Computer Association or via unknown computers collection (pxe boot) My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Interestingly, when I just ran the Query again, two entries came up for that MAC address. Same MAC address, different GUID's, different names and different resource IDs. "when you do the query for the machine, delete it, then re-add it using Computer Association or via unknown computers collection (pxe boot)" Would you mind explaining how to do this, when I have the query results displayed, there is no option to delete the machine account. If I right click the machine from the Query display I just get the Options like: Install client, Distribute, Start, Client Tools, Client Log Files etc. Cheers

Oh brilliant! At the moment to find that MAC address i'm just using the system default query "Query All Systems" and then using the search funcion for the MAC. The query is select SMS_R_System.Name, SMS_R_System.SMSAssignedSites, SMS_R_System.IPAddresses, SMS_R_System.MACAddresses, SMS_R_System.IPSubnets, SMS_R_System.OperatingSystemNameandVersion, SMS_R_System.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup, SMS_R_System.LastLogonUserDomain, SMS_R_System.LastLogonUserName, SMS_R_System.SMSUniqueIdentifier, SMS_R_System.ResourceId, SMS_R_System.ResourceType, SMS_R_System.NetbiosName, SMS_R_System.Unknown from SMS_R_System How can I change this to only display the machine with that MAC address ? Hi, all. Not sure if you guys are still looking for a fix for this. I had the same issue. From the Config Mgr Console, I ran the report "MAC - Computers for a specific MAC address" and located the device by its MAC. I then deleted the device from SCCM and restarted Windows Deployment Service. I was then able to successfully boot the pc to pxe. Hope this helps someone.
