Newbie : OSD Fails on Physical; but succeeds on Virtual PC
Please suggest ideas I could try to solve this. Thanks.
The Issue
-----------
OSD fails on Physical PC's, (but succeeds fine on Virtual PC's)
Error : 80004005 after image is selected.
Replication steps on Physical PC
--------------------------------
Usual upto WinPE -> Initializing Windows PE
I press F8
Usual 'Initializing Network'
LTI option pops up to select image, which I select and click Next
A split second after "Next" is clicked, error 80004005 pops-up
On the CMD window alongside, I confirm the following -
- Ipconfig - OK
- ping to MP - OK
- map drive to DP Image package - OK (using network access account credentials)
- access to C: drive - OK
- "X:\> dir *.log /s" yields only 3 0-byte log files. I guess logging has not started yet.
Checked MP_location.log on MP, but cannot find any entry of this IP in there.
On the same physical PC above, if I boot to XP and setup a virtual PC and perform the above steps,
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
no problems and BDD is fine. (I can find entry of the IP in MP_location.log as soon as I click 'Next' as above.)

Other information
------------------
* For the above we have swithed to LTI
* New boot image was created 2 weeks ago. Since then, only successes have been reported. Above error only reported since yesterday.
* Problem is with only a few adsites, all belonging to the same Primary site. Even in these there are rare successes, but mostly same failures as above. Other primary sites are fine.
* Network team has confirmed that there have been no changes in the recent past on the affected ADSITES.
* Boot images generated as usual using "Task to create OS installation CD" for all primary sites in the same way, just the Primary server selection was changed.
* Upgrade to SCCM/MDT is planned in 2-3 months (in case you wonder why BDD!)
