New to SQL, where do I start with systems integration?
We have a bunch of retail, financial and other systems and I wish to start integrating the data between some of these. Before I go to the business departments to investigate their requirements, I'd like to know of the possibilities of SSIS
in this regard? I've just installed SQL 2008 standard and will be migrating several business applications SQL databases onto this. I also run Sharepoint foundation of which I heard you can do some groovy things with SQL for reporting purposes.
Some of the business applications run other database technologies such as paradox, so i'm unsure how much they could figure in any systems integration strategy.
So can any body start me off in the right direction here in terms of what's possible with SSIS and how I can make it work for our organisation?
thank you

Hi,
The above post is helpful, and I recommend if you read Analysis service step by step book because it provide one or two chapter about SSIS and many hands on, and provide the ability and functionality of SSIS.
If you want to continue in this field you need to read more books about SSIS and there are many.
Remember:
SSIS online books are important Google is your best friend.
I hope this is helpful.
