New Web Application not displaying...HTTP 404 Not Found
Environment: Server 2003 R2 / SQL 2005 WSS 3.0 I initially created a Web App for testing using port 80 and it worked. I then decided to create a live Web App so I changed the port number from my first Web App from 80 to 8080 and the new port location works. I then created my new Web App using port 80 but nothing comes up. I had originally edited my host file to reflect the local IP for my site(tech-cb) and then deleted that entry and added my new site(Home-cb) and also went to my DNS and deleted the A Host record for tech-cb and added the new home-cb entry to reflect the local IP address of the server. I have rebooted the SP server and still not getting a page. Would there had been a problem if I had kept the same port number for both Web App's? Any suggestions / advice on getting the new web app running would be greatly appreciated. I am very new to Sharepoint and look forward to learning as much as I can in regards to administering and growing our SharePoint farm. Thanks,Jr. Admin

Not good, I got my new site working but now when I try to access my old site it is not working. So I thought perhaps I had messed up the iis site so I decided to create a new Web App, reset iis, Created new site using port 48179 but I can not access the site. Machine is using IP address 192.168.110.28, I have added the dword key per an KB I found but still no go. Any suggestions, I just want to create a test environment for our SP. Currently I can access "home-cb" no problem, the new site I put 192.168.110.28:48179 and I get 400 Bad request. I do see under IIS that the site is started and working fine, I see the DB in SQL. Not sure what else to try. Any thoughts?Jr. Admin
