New Secondary Site, Boundaries not flowing up?
Hi Guys, hope you can help.
Here's my situation: i have a central primary called APD, a primary child called CEN, and a secondary child called BNA connected to APD.
APD
| \
CEN BNA
I want to create another Secondary child (BNE) who's parent is CEN, and delete BNA. BNE will be taking over, as the site codes are different i'm doing a side by side install:
APD
|
CEN
|
BNE
I have installed BNE, and everything seemed to go fine. I connected to the APD server, opened up the admin console, and removed the AD site boundary from BNA and added it into BNE. i then waited an hour, and sent all the clients that are assigned
to this BNA/BNE site an advert which ran an auto-discover on their computers. only two out of the 40 PCs have updated to CEN, and if i run a manual auto discover on a random PC it still thinks it's site code is APD.
I then noticed that if i connected to the CEN site and had a look in the admin console, the BNE site had NO boundary! i went back to the APD admin console, and the boundary was right there under BNE. so.. something is broken :) i've looked
through a bunch of the logs but cannot find any errors either.. any ideas? maybe i'm looking in the wrong logs..
thanks!
to add to this, i have just noticed a bunch of things seem to not be flowing up to APD - the BNE site when viewed from the APD admin console is missing heaps of settings that i set from the CEN console, like site system roles (ConfigMgr management point),
and settings in the component configuration site settings subfolder..

Hi,
Do you have any errors in the sender.log on both the parent and the child site? Also make sure you check the hman.log, it could a secure key exhange issue.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

Hi Kent,
I did a manual secure key exchange when i first set it up, so i don't think it's that.
However, i could have sworn i already looked in the sender.log file, but perusing it again i notice this:
There is no existing connection, Win32 error = 1326 SMS_LAN_SENDER
Error during connection to \\ASDPWIIN013\SMS_SITE (1326). SMS_LAN_SENDER
Operation is retryable. SMS_LAN_SENDER
Cannot connect to server ASDPWIIN013 at remote site CEN, won't try send requests going to site CEN for an hour or until there are no active send requests. SMS_LAN_SENDER
Could not establish connection. SMS_LAN_SENDER
Attempt to connect failed. SMS_LAN_SENDER
doesn't look healthy! I looked up "Win32 error = 1326" and found some technet site that mentioned that 1326 meant bad username or password. so, i checked the accounts subfolder under BNE from the CEN console, and it has an incorrect
account name in there! finally some progress.. but how to i update this to be the connect username? i can't seem to delete that account or put in a new one?

Hi,
Delete the adress and create a new one. After you have done that, restart the sms_executive and the sitecomp servicesKent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products
