New Report Server DB
Hi, I have been having problems with my Report Server DB recently and have had to create a new DB (using Report Server Config Manager) to overcome these problemsThis has worked in a sense, as now I can browse to the Reporting Services homepage and not get the erroes anymoreBut unfortunatly I have now lost all of the predefinied reports in my SCE Server!Alsi when I try to run certain Reports form other areas of SCE, such as the Harwarde Inventory Summary form the Computers section I receive errors saying that:The item '/Microsoft.SystemCenter.Essentials.Report.Library/Microsoft.SystemCenter.Essentials.Report.HardwareSummary' cannot be found. (rsItemNotFound)Does anyone know I can get these Reports into my new Report Server DB?Would really appreciate nay help with this, as the idea of having to do a complete reinstall of SCE doesn't appeal to me at all! Thanks in advanceMike DowerSys AdminMinistry of Sound

Hello Mike,Could you post some details about"create a new DB"? Did you use a SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008?After the new DB created, is there adatabase instancewith the same name andsame structureas the previous Essentials2007 database instance? If the Essentials2007 database does exist, try the steps in the following thread to reset reporting in SCEcannot generate all reporthttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenterinventory/thread/b22d6893-13fb-4701-868e-2517a942f412If you did backupthe data and log files of the previous DB, you should restore them to find the predefinied reports and the data. For your information, cHow to Back Up and Restore System Center Essentialshttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb437269.aspxIf the above steps cannot help you, I'm afraid the last option should be reinstalling the whole SCE Server. Thanks,Yog Li - MSFT

Hi Yog Li,Thanks for getting back to me about this issue....I used the "Reporting Services Configuration Manager" to create the new DB on my remote SQL Server (Reporting Services is hosted on the same box as the SCE Server, but the DBs are held on a remote SQL Server)The Remort SQL Server is SQL 2005It is only the Reporting Services DB that I have recreated, not the Essentials 2007 (Operations Manager) DBI've tried follwing the steps to re-imoprt the Essentials Report MP but this hasn't worked and I still cannot see any of my predefined Reports or run any reports within SCEAny other ideas on how I can resolve this without doing a complete SCE re-install?ThanksMike

Hello Mike,With my understanding, the Reporting Service DB should be created before the installation of SCE server. It seems doesn't work to recreate the DB. I'm afraid a complete SCE re-install is the only option now. Thanks,Yog Li - MSFT
