New Document Server Property in Document Library ís showing wrong date
Hi,I have a sharepoint document library which has a required datefield. The document library has been configured to use "Word 97-2003 Documents" type files. When I use "New" document option to add a document, it opens MS word with the Server properties (Title, Date Field and other columns). but surprisingly, the date field in Server properties section is showing an old date "5/9/2004" !!. But it should be empty because I have not set any default value for the column in column settings!I have created this document library using an old template. is this problem is related to the template? Or is it something related to Office compatibility? (I am using Office 2007).Please Help! Thanks,Lucky

Hi Lucky, What you said is exactly right, I test your issue at my local as following: 1. Create new Date Column with “not required” and “no default value” options, Server properties section is showing a blank value. 2. Create new Date Column with “Required” and “no default value” options, Server properties section is showing a “old time” value. 3. Create new Date Column with “not required” and “a default value” options, Server properties section is showing the default value. 4. Create new Date Column with “Required” and “a default value” options, Server properties section is showing the default value. After do research, I couldn’t find any article pointed this. For your scenario, if you use the Date Column with “Required”, I suggest you to set a default value for this column. Hope this helps. Thanks! Stanfford
