New Client

We are using SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 and use VMware Template technology to deploy new servers in our environment and not SCCM OSD (as i guess it is not supported to deploy 2012 R2 using SCCM 2007 OSD)

The VMWare Template is deployed , joined to domain , added to the OU's etc.

SCCMclient gets deployed  using a GPO , so all is good.

Howe ever the problem is in our environment this client does not get detected by SCCM server As i guess it is dependent on AD discovery

Also It doesn't show up in All systems immediately.

this prevents me from getting all patches installed immediately (we use SCCM SUP for patching)

Is there a way I can get a newly deployed server be immediately added to SCCM and All Systems collection so that we can have all necessary software and windows updates installed.

Currently All Systems collection Updates everyday

AD System Discovery runs everyday and we have enabled delta discover every hour

Hi,

AD System Discovery is not necessary as you install the client using GPO, the client will register itself automatically when started. That takes a little while as well, after that All systems collection must be updated and os it goes.

What you can do is script the updating of collections part otherwise there is not much you can do.

As Jorgen said, AD Discovery is not the dependency for an SCCM client being detected, AD Discovery detects active directory information, this information is then appended to an SCCM Client record.

AD Discovery is useful if Client Push is enabled, however as you have mentioned your client is pushed using group policy.

In your scenario, you would have to wait for the machine to be joined to the domain, then for group policy to process, download the SCCM client files and initiate the install. Once completed you still need to wait for the SCCM machine policy to initiate and run the other prerequisite scans before the software updates would initiate.

If you're looking to increase the efficiency of this process, I'd recommend you look at automating your VMWare templates, VMware orchestrator would be a good place to start, you could automate the domain join, sccm client install, and update installation.

Alternatively use SCCM Operating System Deployment, which can automate the sccm client install and software updates and domain join giving you a complete sol

May be you can run the system discovery immediately from the console when the server machine added to domain and SCCM client installed successfully, which would run the discovery ASAP and enable the machine to be updated in the all systems immediately for your patching activity and scan and patch deployment.
