Network file share access issue

I have 2 computers, 1 still using windows 8.1 Pro and 1 I just upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. I am having an issue accessing a file share on from my Win10 computer to the win8.1. I have found I only have an issue on the Win10 computer when I use my Microsoft account logging into the Win10 computer when I attempt to access with Win8.1 file share it prompts for user and password, it says user or password is incorrect even though it is not...If I change my Win10 computer to use a local account when I access the Win8.1 computer it prompts for the user and password and accepts it with no problems. Is there something that the Microsoft account login changes which would cause a file share issue.

Hi gnaz,

Thank you for your question.

Please make sure SMB 1.0/CIFS File  Sharing Support has been installed under Turn Windows features on or off.

Then we try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption. SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

1.Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
2.In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

This did not fix the problem. I have switched from a Microsoft account to a local account login for now. The only thing I loose is Cortana, but I would rather have my smb network shares work.
