Need some guidance with remediation
I'm new to SCCM. I did a configuration item which checks for a specific folder and associated it with a baseline but I don't see where can I add a remediation rule which deletes the specific folder if it exists. Also how can I create a configuration item which checks for specific installed applications?

Hi,

Remeditiation is only supported for some Configuration items: "You can remediate noncompliant settings for WMI, the registry, scripts, and all settings for the mobile devices that are enrolled by Configuration Manager." So for a folder you would have to make a Collection of "non-compliant" computers and deploy a script to that Collection that deletes the folder.

What I want to do is detect specific applications on computers and uninstall them automatically or maybe specify a bunch of compliant applications and uninstall everything else. Is there a way I can do any of this? Would be really grateful for the help :)

I am not much femiliar with Complaint & Remidiation Process.

But if its your requiremnt You can create a deployement type  with detection method and uninstall if application present in machine .

if multiple application need to uninstall use some script to call uninstalltion process for application

thanks

For deployments I've used WDS and in the past one time sccm 2007 (for OS dep) so I'm googleing now the way you mentioned :) but if you can tell me in a few easy steps how to do that I would be grateful. To be able to uninstall an app like you said do I need to have the package/program added on the SCCM server or I can just specify something like if if folder or file X is found, delete it or run uninstaller.
