Need help with executing SED command in Execute Process Task
Hi All, I am having trouble getting my Execute Process Task to run my SED executable command. I have the following setup: In Debug mode, the window stays yelllow and nothing is happening. I had this issue with executing a DOS CMD Copy command and a poster send to use the /C switch in front of my argument string, but this does not work using the SED executable command. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help. Dave

That's the problem...I don't know how to set up a .bat file to run in Execute Process Task. Do I use the same expression in the .bat file as I would in process task? In other words, can I just copy my Execute Process Task expression: "\"s/`0A//\" \"F:\\Monthly Updates\\" + @[User::YrMon] + "\\DATA\\mc_medical_claims_det.out\" > \"F:\\Monthly Updates\\" + @[User::YrMon] + "\\DATA\\mc_medical_claims_det_tmp.out\"" and put it in a bat file? I am new to Execute Process Task and need assistance in setting it up to run a .bat file. Thanks everybody for your help. Dave

brewerdi, Have you ever run dos commands in Windows command shell. First run your required command in windows command shell (Start -> Run -> Type cmd.exe -> click ok). If things work as expected. you can copy the same command into a text file and save it as "Mycommand.bat". Then you can specify the path of bat file via Execute Process Task. Yes, I have run .bat files in native DOS...I'm just not sure how to set up Execute Process Task to execute my .bat file. I also have the issue of using an SSIS parameter YrMon as shown in the code snippet below: "\"s/`0A//\" \"F:\\Monthly Updates\\" + @[User::YrMon] + "\\DATA\\mc_medical_claims_det.out\" > \"F:\\Monthly Updates\\" + @[User::YrMon] + "\\DATA\\mc_medical_claims_det_tmp.out\"" Can you help? Thanks. Dave
