Need help on SCCM Design
Hi, I need to come out with a SCCM design for one of my customer. In their environment, they have about 100 branches scattered across the country with direct connection back to HQ. There are about 1000 workstations in HQ. Number of workstations in each branch ranges from 3 to 50. Direct connections are available from branches to HQ, bandwidth is between 128kbps to 2mbps. For environment like this, is it ok to setup just 1 Primary site server in HQ? For branches would it be better to go for secondary site server or BDP? Since the maximum number of workstation in each branch is only 50, is it better to go for BDP instead? Would it be better if I configure NLB for MP in HQ? Need some advice from you guys Thanks

Hi, 1) Yes, 1 primary site server in HQ is enough for your environment. 2) on Secondary site or BDP? - It would be easier to manage a secondary site and they are more robust. With secondry site we could control the network trafic between primary and secondary sites. So If the server OS is available at these sites, then I would choose to install a secondary site. If the number of computer is less than 10 computer and all I ever want to do is software distribution and sotware updates then I would go for BDP at those locations. 3) It seems like your environment does not contain more than 25000 clients, so I don't think an NLB for MP is required at HQ.
