Hi All

I have 3 servers in my company and i am Admin of that servers. 

Now i enable the SMB files sharings of one server for my Boss via Sonicwal  and it working perfect. he can access all files from anywhere.

now my problem is there is one folder in shares name " reports " i create that folder as a shortcut of my 2nd ERP server.

Now my boss can able to access all folders accept that folder because its a shortcut of my ERP server.

How i can give him access to that folder. i tried opening port on ERP server firewall (port 135-445) but fail. it gives error that 

"WINDOWS CANNOT ACCESS \\192.168.1.64\REPORTS 
CHECK THE SPELLINGS OF THE NAME. OTHERWISE THERE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR NETWORK,
TO TRY IDENTIFY AND RESOLVE NETWORK PROBLEMS. CLICK DIAGNOSE"

my boss has administrative rights then why he is not able to access other servers shortcut via SMB. 

Please help me in it because he want me to solve this asap.

\\192.168.1.64\REPORTS contains an internal IP. This can not work if your boss is outside of your internal network. Unless there is VPN involved.

As S66 said, if your boss is outside of your internal network, it will not work and you need to setup VPN.

If your boss is inside of your internal network but not a same subnet (192.168.1.x, which means they are connected on a same router/hub), you need to check the connection between your boss's network and the network of the ERP server.

You can perform a tracert <FQDN of ERP server> from your boss's computer to see if there is any error occurs.

Note: FQDN means computer.domain.com

sorry for late reply and thanks to all for help but guys he has vpn his vpn is working 

the think is i enabled 445 port so he can access shared files ... he can access the shared files as well but the issue is there is one folder 

let me explain

i have 2 servers ( file server and erp server)

the 445 port is enable on file server means if he try to login to file server from out side through public ip, he can access the file server... 

but 

in file server there is one shortcut of erp server which he is not able to access from outside ... he can access everything on file server except that erp server's shortcut folder
