Need Help with a few client issues
Ok team having a few weird issues with clients. first, some of these clients are in the same OU's as others that are working fine.. I have 7 clients that show in the Config Mgr console as Client = No. 2 have the errors: GetLogonUserSid failed at GetTokenSids 0x800704dd 2 have the errors: Failed to instantiate VApp UI Server and Failed to instantiate Updates UI Server I have ran the WMI repair as suggested, I have double checked the access, like i said there are clients working that are in the same OU and they all have the same access.. I cannot figure out what the heck is happening here...Any help is greatly appreciated.. :)jshely

We wanted to check whether client is able to communicate with MP and there is no authetication issue. Also check WMI using WMIDIAG tool or WBEMTEST try to connect to name space root\ccm? http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/socal/archive/2007/08/22/troubleshooting-wmi-with-wmidiag.aspx Any error in event log? Torsten, just a last couple of questions then...1. Where do I check to see if they made it to the database once I initiate the Data Discovery cycle? I ran the refresh last night and the client is still showing no in the config mgr console? Im just worried that if they can be truly ignored, how will I know its safe to push software to those clients? Thanks alot for your help!jshely

I could not find any errors in the logs,. The question I have with running the WMI Diag tool is that if I have over 100 clients with WMI issues, is there an easier way than manually running it and checking it on every server? It seems as if no one knows how to solve the GetLogonUserSid failed at GetTokenSids 0x800704dd or the Failed to instantiate VApp UI Server and Failed to instantiate Updates UI Server errors.. I have seen many posts on these issues and not one real fix... Anyone know another way to troubleshoot this than to run WMI Diag on every server?jshely

If you goto system object properties in SCCM console and check the Agent Name and Agent Time (those are discovery agents run on that particular system) Also check out the below blog post for more details about these type of issues http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2009/08/10/troubleshooting-issues-where-clients-are-not-reporting.aspx Also, check MP is not working fine or not.Anoop C Nair - Twitter @anoopmannur MY BLOG: http://anoopmannur.wordpress.com SCCM Professionals This posting is provided AS-IS with no warranties/guarantees and confers no rights.

Ok to be specific then, I have a server that is discovered, showing n/a under assigned, has the incorrect site code and client = No. The cas.log shows:GetLogonUserSid Failed at Get TokenSids 0x800704dd. It is in the same AD OU with the same permissions as others servers that are working correctly. The execmgr.log on this server also has the errors: Failed to instantiate VApp UI Server {00AAB372-0D6D-4976-B5F5-9BC7605E30BB} with error 0x8000401A and Failed to instantiate Updates UI Server {2D023958-73D0-4542-8AD6-9A507364F70E} with error 8000401a If I login and view the Configuration Manager it successfully identifies the correct side code. I have tried to run the ccmclean and repush the client from the console and still get the same results? I have ran the winmgmt /resetrepository with no changes in the results. Any ideas to start? jshely

Those errors can be safely ignored. Have you already initiated an Data Discovery Cycle? Does it make it to the database? Wait a few minutes and update the 'all systems' collection, refresh the console and double check if there are duplicate records for that client. Also bring up the properties of it and check if the heartbeat timestamp is up to date.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de
