Hi, how did you extend SharePoint site ? Using Application Management > Extend an existing web application ? If yes , please check AAM settings. You will get one more site in other then default zone for that application. If its there please check IIS web site folder and web address. Please check and let us know.Regards, Pratik Vyas | SharePoint Consultant | http://sharepointpratik.blogspot.com/

Yes,I have created in the same manner. Original site - http://172.17.134.97:12121 (This is set for default) Extended site - http://172.17.134.97:2011 Can you please tell where are the AAM settings? We have 4-5 websites in my IIS wesite folder but http://172.17.134.97:12121 is set for default right now. Both original and extended site should run . Can you also tell the functionalites of each zone? Please advice.

AAM = Alternate Access Mappings Central Admin > Operations > AAM Select http://172.17.134.97:12121 from the dropdwon and it will show you default zone and extended URL. Please check in which zone you will get extended URL.Regards, Pratik Vyas | SharePoint Consultant | http://sharepointpratik.blogspot.com/

In AAM settings, there are many urls having default zone including http://172.17.134.97:12121 .I had created 2 extended sites .One of these url has zone:Internet and the other one has zone:Custom. When i am trying to change the zone from Custom to default. It gives an error: "The public Custom zone URL http://aaram_server:2013 cannot be deleted. Set another URL to be the public Custom zone URL before performing this action. " Similarly, when changing zone from Internet to default for the other site,we are getting the following error: "The public Internet zone URL http://aaram_server:2012 cannot be deleted. Set another URL to be the public Internet zone URL before performing this action. "

http://172.17.134.97:2011 is in "Custom" zone. We have done the following steps. AAM>AAM Collection>Selected http://172.17.134.97:12121 (Original site). Now,there are 2 websites, -original one(http://172.17.134.97:12121 ) with "Default" zone. -Extended one ( http://172.17.134.97:2011 ) with "Custom" zone. We deleted extended site entry and with "Add Internal URL" we made an entry again for extended site again and changed the zone to "Default". Now,both the sites are in default zone. My requirement is that both original and extended site should run . But with the above steps only one site is working at the time. If we try to open any folder in the extended site,it is pointing to the original site and hence it is not working. Can we set both the sites as Default at a time ? Please suggest. Thanks

Yes you can put both sites in default zone but at this time it gives an issue and pointing to default site. And when you click "Edit Public URLs", it will only give you original site listed in default zone. What if etended ite remain in custom zone , will it point to extended path or going to original one ? So I suggest you to put extended site in some different zone. We have made the original site http://172.17.134.97:12121 as Default and the extended site http://172.17.134.97:2011 as Custom zone. When we accessing the extended site,we able to navigate thorugh the folders. But when we run any report in the folders then it throws an error like this: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The specified path refers to a SharePoint zone that is not supported. The default zone path must be used. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SecurityZoneNotSupportedException: The specified path refers to a SharePoint zone that is not supported.
