After I installed SP1, July and August Updates, I noticed that names are disappearing from Person or Group type columns on Edit form (EditForm.aspx) of any list. Users have designers permissions. They can see names on any view or DispForm.aspx. If I change their permissions to owners, they will see names on the EditForm.aspx form. Launching form in a dialog will not make difference. The list forms were not modified in InfoPath.

Have you re-run the SharePoint Configuration Wizard and check results again?

Have you tested if the newly created list items have this issue? And also in other new web application?

And I will install July and August 2014 CUs for my SharePoint 2013 server per the following article, and check if the issue could be reproduced in my side.

I can reproduce this problem in my TEST environment. I re-ran Configuration  Wizard on both servers, and did not get any errors.

I created a new Issue Task list and added new items on existing lists. Same results. Names are on view list but not in Edit form for designers. However, I noticed  a name will stay visible in AssignTo column on EditForm.aspx if user is added for the first time to UserInfo list of the site.
