Name of Configuration Database
Hi All , I have an existing sharepoint farm set up , I would like to know the name config database , I know of one way is through checking the registry , can anybody suggest is there any way i could check the same throguh central admin page . Regards Srujan.N srujan

you can use powershell to get the config db name.. Also mentioned by KSDN you can get the db from the backup action too.

Most likely it will be SharePoint_Config :) Alpesh, maybe you should visit a big company that has SQL Server cluster farms that hosts hundreds of SharePoint instances one day. To your surprise, you would quickly learn that "Most likely" will not cut it. If you call the DBA and say that your SharePoint config DB name is SharePoint_Config, be prepared to be the laugh of the day. ;)My blog: InsomniacGeek.com
