NPS - Multiple Radius Clients with the same SSID name
Hi Everyone,

I can't seem to figure out a solution for adding multiple access points using the same SSID to my Radius server. I have multiple access point in a very large warehouse that use the same SSID. I need to keep to the access points as AP instead of a repeater device since they are broadcast multiple SSID. My current setup for the radius clients is Friendly Name: Network1, IP: 10.0.10.5 for access point number 1. Access point number 2 uses Friendly name: Network2 IP: 10.0.10.6 and so on for Network 3 - 10. My ideal configuration would be for all AP to use the same SSID or Friendly name. I have tried using the same friendly name and assigning multiple ip address. For example: 10.0.10.5; 10.0.10.6; .... I just receive event id 10, the name 10.0.....radius client Network1 could not be resolved.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions on this issues. Clients keep getting dropped when they are roaming the warehouse since everything is on a different SSID.

Thanks.

Hi joeyB_IWI,

Based on my understanding, you would like to add the APs to be RASIUS clients, since you have multiple access points, you doesnt want to add them one by one, instead, you want to use the SSID to be the identify.

Radius server doesnt support SSID as the clients identity, we can only add RADIUS client by entering friendly name and IP address.

Here is an example about how to add the network access server as a RADIUS client:
