MySites and Profile Broken After Enabling SSL

Hello.

We installed a vanilla SharePoint 2013 system and set the My Sites on a different web app (http://servername:4321/personal).

The main site runs on http://servername

We require access from outside, so we enabled SSL and changed the URL as well:

My sites -> https://full.name.com:444/personal

Main site -> https://full.name.com

We are using a wildcard certificate so the above worked. Also changed the Alternate Access Mapping and set the above as default.

The problem is that whatever accounts were created before the SSL implementation, they have issues with their profiles and my sites don't work anymore (unless they are accessed with the old links).

Is there any way to delete the MySites for these accounts and do it all over again ? For one account I deleted the MySite Site Collection through central admin, but now when the user clicks it it gives a 401. Also tried deleting the user profile, nothing happened.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, it works fine for new users. Their MySite is created automatically using the new link, but whoever had it created before the change has issues.

For MySite web app:

Default: https://full.name.com:444

Intranet: http://servername:4321

For Web App 80:

Default: https://full.name.com

Intranet: http://servername

one thing try it

remove the AAM for MYSite for intranet zone.

then add internal URL and put the url here.

see if it works

For the user that I deleted the site collection through CA I was able to recreate it by logging it again.

For the other users I can login to their MySites but the blog for example still points to the old link....

Is there a way to delete the user's profiles and start fresh for them ?

Thanks again.

what i am thinking is something wrong with your AAM, thats why i suggest you above steps.

In ideal world there is no issue with enabling the SSL on mysites.

I did, but still no go.

If I click on one of the users that created the site before the change, I can see their profile and all links (for example the "Ask me about..." are pointing to the old links.

Hi,

Maybe I didn't understand your message.

Can you please give me some details on how to set AAM for MySite web app (which URL to which zone... etc)

Thanks
