MySites Generating 404 error
There are two kinds of pages in MySite - one is the profile page which will come up even if one does not have a MySite, the other is the MySite homepage which will come up only if the person if accessing his own MySite. The URL that you mentioned above (http://mysiteurl/personal/username) seems to be a profile page which will be available for everyone even if they dont have a MySite. Check the following: Check whether the MySite content database is attached Check whether the MySite Host is correctly configured. Thanks, Dip

Thanks, Dip The database is attached, and the host is correctly configured. This has been working for about 4 years, I am not sure what happened last night that broke it.Shon

Mpss 2007 This morning when I came in to work, our MySites are all generating a 404 error. There are 10 other applications on MOSS system and they are all working properly. I checked the disk space on all systems including DB, reset IIS, with no luck. I have not rebooted the server yet because that will cause a major interruption. It is only the root of the MySite URL, if I type out the full URL like http://mysiteurl/personal/username The page will load. Any ideas what else I can check? Shon

dip_biswas, if user dosn't have MySite, then instead of this URL he will have "_layouts/UserDisp.aspx?..." page. Shon, can you clarify what is "root of the MySite URL"? Is it http://mysiteurl or http://mysiteurl/personal? It can be so that welcome page of this site was broken because of some reason, but site itself is working.Blog - http://sadomovalex.blogspot.com CAML via C# - http://camlex.codeplex.com

Just noticed that I did not close this one. The root mysite, site had been deleted. Once that was restored users were able to be redirected properly.Shon
