Multiple item reqeust within a SharePoint List
Currently I'm only able to build single item requests within a SharePoint 2007 list. Is there a way (without using infopath) to allow users to input multiple items in one request? For instance, if a user wants to submit a request for 4 different products (each having a different product number and description), what options are there for entering this as one request instead of 4 separate ones? My other option is to build it in excel and request via a library but my issue with that option is I cannot figure out how to append text to a comment field in a document library

Can you try adding the items using the Data Sheet View. When you do that it provides you a view that is similar to an excel sheet; you can then use your excel sheet to simply copy the data and past it on the datasheet. once done the SP will create 4 items for you in the background which can be viewable by shifting to Standard list view. Hope this make senseThanks, Mayur Joshi

I thought about this option but when adding via the datasheet view, I think it still treats them as individual requests. I will be using a work flow that will send an email alert for each request.

are you saying that you want to avoid email alerts on every item created? If yes, then that is something which is not possible the only way is to disable the workflow until you create items. Thanks, Mayur Joshi

I was just wondering if there's away to accomplish multiple items in one request. I know with infopath you have the option of repeating tables and section which allows you to enter as many items as you like. I'm just trying to figure out a way to accomplish this without using infopath.
