Multiple file upload - upload.aspx error SharePoint 2007 & ISA 2006
Hi I am wondering if anyone has come across this issue before? When connecting to our SharePoint Site we authenitcate through ISA 2006 server with reverse publishing to the SharePoint Site, but when a user tries to carry out a multiple upload of files to the site we end up with the following error: Cannot run Windows SharePoint Services on this page: http://portal.<domain>.com/<site>/infrastructure/Shared Documents/Forms/Upload.aspx Now the process that we have carried out so far is check out the Upload.aspx file, replaced it on the concern that it may have been corrupted. Yet when we connect internally directly to the server or using the internal SharePoint address, we do not have any issues at all with completing a multiple file upload, so we know that the upload.aspx file is correct. Would anyone have any suggestions on what to look at as we are in the feeling that the issue is some how realted to the ISA server. I believe that the configuration/publishing of the SharePoint Site through the ISA was correctly carried out, but there seems to be this issue. I have also read through the following document which relates to Deploying Office SharePoint Server 2007 with ISA Server 2006 - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc268368.aspx but everything I see looks to be as per our configuration with a couple of minor differences: - the certificate that is being used is not the name of the SharePoint site but the one we use for Outlook Web Access being mail.<Domain>.com. - also within the Web Listener the Listener SSL Certificate only has the IP addresses of internal being the ISA server IP address and an External which is our external IP, but nothing for the SharePoint Server IP, not sure if this is required? - also another thing different that I have seen, not sure if this has any effect on what we are trying to do, the Authentication method is FBA with AD, Windows AD authentication as apposed to LDAP as mentioned in the document. Hardware Config: SharePoint 2007 ISA 2006 (located in DMZ) DC 2003 R2 SP2 Users - Windows XP Pro or Windows 7 with Office 2003 or Office 2007 I would be interested in hearing from anyone on any comments or suggestions. Thanks for any assistance and advice.:-) Regards Paul Gardiner

Ok, but you're still using FBA, and as mentioned, FBA will not let you upload multiple documents.Tony Parker, MSCE . MCTP. MCITP "Anything worth doing, is worth doing right"

Thanks Tony, sorry I just re-read your original message, I will try with the FBA disabled and see what the result is. Paul Gardiner

Hi Paul, What I am saying is that you may not have a choice in going without the multiple uploads as long as you are using FBA. There was an update in Dec 2008 for MOSS 2007 that improved the compaitibilty between FBA and Client Integration, however I am still not sure that will allow you to perform mulitple uploads. So, In an Intranet Scenario, Multiple Uploads are available with Client Integration turned on, which its the default setting with Windows Based Auth. However, in an extranet scenario or internet faceing site, where you have created a new Zone and chosen FBA as the auth provider, client integration is disabled by default, you can enable it, but you still will not see its full benifits due to the restrictions on FBA. This is what I am trying to say. In SharePoint 2010 hopefully they allow this. I hope this was helpful Tony Parker, MSCE . MCTP. MCITP "Anything worth doing, is worth doing right"
