Multiple Tables Export to Multiple Excel Files
Using the SSIS Import/Export Wizard, how can I export the pubs database tables into corresponding Excel files? Thanks. Kalman Toth, SQL Server & Business Intelligence Training; sqlusa.com

Choose Microsoft excel from the drop down box while specifying the destination and select the corresponding excel file location. See the figure. But the hard fact is using import and export wizard you can only export to a single excel file with multiple worksheets. Try to build the package in BIDS and you can whatever customization's you want. Thanks, Raj Lanka

Thanks Raj. I know how to export a single table. The question is multiple tables to multiple Excel files with the Wizard, or possible minor modification to the saved Wizard package. The Wizard wants to put all tables in pubs database into the same Excel file but different sheets. Kalman Toth, SQL Server & Business Intelligence Training; sqlusa.com

If you exclude the pub_info table (image & text data type columns), it transfers the data to a single Excel file with multiple sheets, each sheet is named like the source table. The question is how to get to multiple Excel files? Kalman Toth, SQL Server & Business Intelligence Training; sqlusa.com

The only solution as far as I could get it now, would be to customize the package generated from Import / Export wizard to generate multiple excel files(using the expressions and script task).Happy to help! Thanks. Regards and good Wishes, Deepak. In a revamp of my Blog!

I think in that case import/export wizard is quite limited... Best Regards, Uri Dimant SQL Server MVP http://dimantdatabasesolutions.blogspot.com/ http://sqlblog.com/blogs/uri_dimant/
