Hi, Is it advisable to have multiple FIM MAs for different entities [ie Users, Suppliers, Customers] ?? any advantages having multiple FIM MAs for different Syncs [performance-wise]? FIM Sync Engine is allowing me to create multiple FIM MsA. But after i deleted the second one [i created for test], i started seeing issues in FIM Portal, sync, etc. one example is, All my existing Sync Rules [in Lab] now says, the reference Management Agent got deleted, and it is asking me to recreate the sync Rule [or reimport the deleted FIM MA].. if we can have only one FIM MA, then why FIM sync service is allowing us to create multiple FIM MAs.. Pls advice.

The Sync Engine can be seen as the center point of your FIM infra. I think it could be a valid topology two have two portals, two FIM service db's and thus two FIM MAs connected to the Sync Engine. No idea how you would handle this, or why, but it would be possible for perhaps different objecttypes and very specifc needs. But I think it's bad practise using multiple FIM MA's towards the same FIM DB. It will definately raise complexity, and probably issues as you are seeing now. http://setspn.blogspot.com
