Multiple Errors in Application Log on SharePoint 2007 Server
Hi, I am experiencing multiple errors on one of my SharePoint 2007 servers. The event IDs are 5586, 3355, 6398. Event ID 5586 appears the most number of times within few seconds interval. My colleague mentioned that this SharePoint server is not able to connect to the SQL database server when the errors occur. Here are the errors in detail: EVENT ID 5586 The description for Event ID 5586 from source Windows SharePoint Services 3 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: 1265 A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) EVENT ID 3355 The description for Event ID 3355 from source Windows SharePoint Services 3 cannot be found. The following information was included with the event: SQL_Server [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. EVENT ID 6398 The description for Event ID 6398 from source Windows SharePoint Services 3 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPConfigurationRefreshJobDefinition 9fb50580-7d26-4642-8881-60c83d1b5e9e A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) Any advise to solve this issue are welcomed.

the network connection breaks or the sql service goes down. is this recurrent? happens often? If it occurs once a day, it might be a scheduled VM snapshot, for example.
