Multiple Collection SQL Query

Hi guys,

I would be grateful if someone could help me out on this one.

I've got a SQL report to pull out APPV packages installed on a particular system object(uses h/W inventory).  It's prompting for the system name, and it works great.

I would like this report to run on a Collection to pull out the same information.

However my collections are in 2007 and some are nested.

ie Col1 > Col2> Col3

Now this structure can vary a bit so  collections might have 3 childs and some have 5 child collections.  Each collection will have system objects added

I want to use my report to prompt for the top parent collection  and pull out the information of the parent and ALL the child collections.

Its easy to setup just pointing to the one collection, but I envisage non-It staff using it.  So I want to make it easy for them to use.

Help would be grate on this one

Rex

Im cleaning up old posts, did you figure this out yet? IF so what was the solution?

IMO this is a complex query and it is not something that someone can whip up in five minutes.

At this point I would recommend that you hire a consultant to help you out. This is not something that anyone here can quickly create. IMO it will take several days of effort to create the base query.
