Multiple-file download manager for external Read users?
I've been asked to research a way to enable external users to download multiple files from a given directory. They are read users, and cannot access "Open Windows Explorer." Adding a zip file of all files in the library isn't going to work. The key is for
it to work through the MOSS interface (or at least appear to.)
The few dozen external users are widespread and using every conceivable type of platform. We were considering FlashGot, but can't to get into the business of supporting endusers.
I'm trying to think of ways around it. Any ideas? I was trying to come up with a scenario where MOSS serves as an FTP front end, but not sure what it buys us other than additional security concerns.
Thanks.

Why not? (If the zip file is added to a document library)

Thanks Rahul. As I said in my original post, we looked at FlashGot, but it's downloaded to the end-user's machine, and I've been told that we don't want to be on the hook to support it. These are non-technical users.
