Moving sharepoint database from one drive to other
I am having the sharepoint installed on c drive which doesn't have much space. Is it possible to move the content database to some other drive on the machine. If yes, then what is the procedure and do i have to make changes anywhere related to these changes?
Also is there any possibility of something going wrong somewhere during this process?
thanks in advance!

Are you having SQL Server on the same box as that of the SharePoint ??
Are you having the SQL DB living in C:\ ??
Generally SQL DBs can be moved from one drive to another DBs

However with respect to sharepoint you need to pay extra attention. If the DB instance gets corrupted during the DB move, you need to re-configure your sharepoint farm once again.
Index is also a good canditate to move to a seperate drive. Indexes occupy rought 30% of you content DB size in your drives. It's better to think of moving indexes also from C:\ to other location

The other option to think of is to scale-up the capacity of your servers, aniticipating the growth of your data

Sundar doesn't seem to have covered the case where you have a basic installation of WSS 3.0 and are using "Windows Internal Database" rather than the full SQL Server.
In that case this WSS FAQ item says how to move that from C: to (say) D:.

This can be done safely but do it when the site is not in use.
1) Quiesce the farm
2) Back it up
3) Detach the databases using SQL Management studio
4) Move them
5) Attach the databases using SQL Management studio
6) Restart the farm
and few blogs will help you.
