Moving documents with a workflow from a document library to a folder and back to the document library

Hello all,

I have created a document library with a folder inside of it. By means of a workflow, I could move a document that was in the document library to the folder using the action update path and name. Now I need to do the reverse path, that is, using a workflow Id like to move the document that is now in the folder, back to the document library but I cant find the action update path and name. Do you have any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks a lot!

Regards.

Hi Juan,

For your issue, you can consider the actions as below:

Eric,

Thanks for your help. I have tried what you proposed but I lose the document version history. I want to move the document with all its version and not create a new one. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards.

Hi,

Please check Content Organizer features to route your documents based on the rule you specify.

YES it is possible to use content organiser rules however you have to do all your document manipulation in the drop off library which is not feasible if you want any form of control over security and management of metadata and content types.

Hi Juan,

I am trying to achieve exactly the same thing here with little success.

claims to have success with the update path and name but have been unable to replicate myself.
