Moving custom .net applications into SharePoint-80 hive on IIS 7.0
Hi there, I have the default setup of SharePoint 2010 on IIS, meaning an admin site, web services site and SharePoint-80 site on IIS 7.0. I have created one more site "CustomApps" - using port 95 - for hosting custom webapplications as I was not sure of their architecture details like framework, authentication mechanism etc. These apps are basically some simple websites which my client was using before we installed SharePoint 2010 for them. My clients are really strict about using ports in their network, so they are asking me to move all custom apps into SharePoint-80 hive. I know its possible by assigning different app pools and virtual directories but is it something that is advisable (best practices in sharepoint). Note that there are around 4-5 custom apps which are built on different .net versions (from 2.0 to 4.0). thanks
