Moving Reporting Service database to a new server.
I have a reportserver database on a 2005 instance. I've moved it and reportservertempdb to a 2008 server. In the config tool > Database > Change Database, I'm getting
"The database you have selected is not a report server database. Please select a SQL Server database that contains report server specific tables and stored procedures and try again."
I have done exactly what is noted in this thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/f8be967e-2126-4b1d-bcbe-9903d5c6b66a
Thanks for any help.

Hi Sam,
We can move the Report Server catalog databases to another database server in the following steps generally:
1. Back up the encryption key using Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
2. Attach or restore the catalog databases to the new server.
3. Re-connect the Report Server calalog database to the new server using Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
4. Restore the backup encryption key using Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
In this case, please make sure you are selecting the correct Report Server catalog database(by default, it is ReportServer, not ReportServerTempDB).
For more information, please see:

Jin,
Thanks for your reply. Those are the steps I followed and I get the error when picking the ReportServer database.

I'm having the exact same issue. I've also followed the steps Jin gave. I've migrated multiple report server db's successfully before.
So...any answer to this?
Thanks so much
