Move or Relocate Site(s)
Our developer built a site off of the Central Admin page, with the admin page located at:
http://sp_server:8080/default.aspx and the main page of the site loacted at:
http://sp_server:8080/Intranet/SitePages/Home.aspx.
How do I disassociate the Central Admin page from the Main page, as well as change the port number to 80 for the main page?
Thanks in advance. And yes. I'm a novice at these things.

Thanks for the tip.
My preference is to keep the Central Admin console on port 8080, but move the site away from Central Admin on port 80.
Any Idea how to do that?

Hi,
For your scenario, I think you can firstly create a new web application using the port 80, and then create a site collection for this web application. Finally, you
can use stsadm export/import to move the site to the new web application.
Hope it helps.

Hi,
To change the port number for central admin., you can use stsadm command
Stsadm –o setadminport –port <Port No.>
