Hi Roger,

To move files from .mbox to .pst there exist no manual way but i tried once and it worked for apple mac here's what to do :

  • Export .mbox files or store them at a location accessible to you.
  • You have to set the File Type code of the "mbox" file exported by Mac Mail to TEXT.
  • Then, when the file dialog box comes up in Outlook 2011, the mbox file will no longer be greyed out and
  • Outlook will be able to import it. No conversion program is needed.
  • Programs like File-type and Quick Change can do File type change.
  • Changing the "Open with:" Application in the Finder did not work for me,so I had to change the File Type code.
If it doesn't work then you'll have to download third party application .Google it and before using any software check YouTube videos related to the software only then download .

I request the moderator to delete all those replies in which a third-party tool is recommended. These guys are simply spammer, and I can prove that with ease.

The Roger Vanek wanted to import the MBOX files to Outlook for Mac 2011. The spammers saw the keyword "import MBOX to Outlook", and thought that the OP is talking about MBOX to PST conversion. In reality, he was not! What the OP would do by converting the MBOX files into PST format as the format is not supported in Outlook for Mac 2011. I think this is enough to declare them spammers.

This is a valuable online community of Microsoft. We should stop spamming here.

Thanks and best regards.
