Mouse Pointer Disappears During Win 8.1 Update ENT OSD to Surface Pro 3

With the new 8.1 Update Enterprise ISO, we are losing the mouse pointer during OSD to the Surface Pro 3 just after it pairs the pen and when the screen appears that it is checking for updates. The mouse is still functional... just the pointer is hidden. Even if we plug in a USB mouse at this point the pointer still remains hidden.

Since touch is still working, this is only a problem when needing to troubleshoot failed deployments. It is very difficult to work with cmd prompt and cmtrace when you don't have a visual on the mouse.

We have tried opening the mouse control panel and turning on/off and changing pointer settings without luck. If we check the 'show location of pointer when pressing CTRL we can see the radar circles, it helps a bit to control the mouse but is adding extra hassle to the process.

Any suggestions or fixes?

Hi,

I think there is some problem with the image, have you tried another ISO or install it on another Surface Pro?

The ISO we are using is the latest 8.1 Enterprise downloaded from VLSC and updated by SCCM. The issue did not happen with the older 8.1 ISO that is no longer available on the VLSC. We have tried this on over 15 different Surface Pro 3 devices, but unfortunately I do not have any other x64 capable devices to test this OSD with at the moment.
