Monitoring Sharepoint 2010 Farm with SCOM 2007 R2
HI We plan to monitor Sharepoint 2010 using SCOM 2007R2. I read the MP guide and some threads related to Farm account priveleges. It seems that for discovery we should use Farm account used for installation/permissions required Local admin on SP servers, SQL server hosting SP DB, DBO for SP DB and Farm admin rights. 1) Can we change account to low privelege once discovery is done? if yes, what are the privleges? 2)if we just use local system, will we just get OS and SQL monitoring from SP servers? No SP monitoring at all or everything except farm diagram? Appreciate any help in advance! ~Cheers, Rohit Kochher

Discoveries run regularly. SO I guess thats the answer to your first question. To the second one, mostly localsystem is not enough to monitor SQL and SP. FOr the OS normally it is.Bob Cornelissen - BICTT (My Blog about SCOM) - MVP 2012 and Microsoft Community Contributor 2011 Recipient
