Modifying Default.aspx using Sharepoint Designer 2010 / 2013

Hi

I am trying to modify the default.aspx for an existing Sharepoint application ( adding some static links to the existing ones) using SP designer 2010 and 2013 ( tried both).

For some strange reason I don't get to see the content in the default.aspx but instead I only see the layout. I tried detaching the same from the layout as well and then editing the same but that too didn't help.

Please suggest the right way to do the same . Am I missing something here in  my steps ?

Default.aspx is not typically used in most SP 2013 templates. Are you wanting to edit /sites/yoursite/sitepages/home.aspx instead?

Hi Amit,

How and where did you add the static links in default.aspx page?

Please provide details about steps to reproduce this issue.

I edited the default page in my environment, and I didnt meet the same issue as you got.

I recommend to edit the default page from UI to see if the issue still occurs.

Thanks,

Victoria
