Missing items in listview webparts
Hello, We have a "dashboard" page that consists of several listview webparts. The other day, I imported a thousand or so items in to one of the libraries the webparts are attached to. Now, the webparts are not showing all of the items any more. If I go straight to the same view attached to the listview web part, I see all the items. The view is filtered for criteria that should show at most 50 items, but the library contains around 2300 forms. Is there some sort of limit on how many items a listview webpart can sort through (not the display item limit). The weird part is, the items that are not shown are random. The view sorts the items by ID the missing items can be anywhere in between new items or old. Again if I go straight to the document library and open up the view, everything looks great. I've tried reconnecting the view, changing the limits to a high number (even though not that many should be displayed after the filter) The same issue is happening with a listview that is a calendar view connected to the same library. Random items do not show up. Any suggestions?

try sorting the view with any other parameter other than ID it might be cause of you having too many items in the view try sorting with names or any other unique parameter then see the results...

Hello, Changing the sort order to something other than the ID doesn't fix the issue. The view is filtered by two properties: [Me] and another column.

Whenever I run into issues like this it ends up being something little that I just didnt see. I would try to start from the begining- If I have no filters do all items show? If I set one filter does it work? What if I just set the other filter? Now, when I do both filters what happens. It sounds like there is probably some configuration in the view that is keeping the items from showing (have you checked the item limit setting for the view?). ~Jennifer Mason ~My Blog~ ~SharePoint Support~ ~SharePoint Training~ ~Follow me on Twitter!~

Thanks Jennifer I've tried setting the item limit to 3000 (there are 2300 items). I don't think it's a problem with the view. If I click on the title of the webpart, it opens up the view of the form library in a new page and I see everything I'm supposed to. In the listview webpart, I can only see random items. So, the filter is working, it's just not showing everything. I've tried changing the view and changing it back with the same results. I will try playing around with the filters but from what I'm seeing, its specfic to just the listview web part. I'm wondering if I've hit some limit to what a listview webpart can filter. The calendar view problem I'm having looks to be related to item limits: http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/itaysk/archive/2009/02/28/sharepoint-calendar-hard-limit.aspx

I didn't see a final resolution. Did anyone come up with anything? I have a custom list having this very problem - random items missing from list view webpart, but visible when going directly to the list. The missing random items will appear in the webpart if I give the individual site admin authority.
