Missing Tabs in SQL Server Reporting Sevices Home
I am running SQL Server 2008/Windows 7 I have looked at several answers to this but dont really understand the answers fully enough. If i enter http:\\computername\reports I just get a blank home page. Many answers say this is to do with privileges but give less than clear instructions about how to remedy for example... http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/88439755-64fd-4de3-b2d2-62401c899c1c tells me.. "try this: In computer management browse your reports virtual directory. Right click on it and select properties. Choose directory security tab. Under authentication and access control click edit. Uncheck enable anonymous access. Ok. Ok" it may be dumb question but what is 'computer management' and where is the reports virtual directory? I cant find 'authentication and access control' - is it different in Windows7? what is the difference (if any) between Local Admin and Administrator user? any help appreciated. Gerald

hi, ssrs 2008 does not use the IIS and thus virtual directories. You configure the urls using the reporting services configuration manager, usually located at program files-->microsoft sql server 2008-->configuration tools. 1) Open ssrs configuration manager, 2) select the tab 'web service url' on left pane 3) Note the report server web service url on the right pane 4) try accessing that url if above does not solve, please check if UAC (user access control) is active. there have been instances where users had difficulties to connect to ssrs when uac is on. disable uac temporarily, connect to ssrs, add the required previleges, then you can put the uac back on. please check if this helps. Please click "Mark as Answer" if this resolves your problem or "Vote as Helpful" if you find it helpful. BH
