Missing RSWebParts.cab from Reporting Services 2008.
I have been unable to locate the SharePoint RSWebParts.cab from a SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 x64 installation. Based on blog advise I looked in the following: Program C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90 C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools There is supposed to be a Reporting Services folder but this folder is not present in either of the above locations. Additionally, there was two other locations within the file system but, they failed to produce the RSWebParts.cab C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportManager C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer Does anyone know where the RSWebParts.CAB is located in the SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 x64 deployment? Reporting Services is installed in Native mode and verified to be working on Windows Server 2008 x64. Thanks

Hi, Usually, the RSWebParts.cab is installed with Reporting Services in your Report Server. By default, it is located in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Reporting Services\SharePoint folder. If you couldnt find out this RSWebParts.cab file in default folder, you should perform repair installation to add this RSWebParts.cab file. For more information please refer to following link: Viewing Reports with SharePoint 2.0 Web Parts http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159772.aspx Hope this helps.

The C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Reporting Services\SharePoint doesn't exist only"C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\" exists. The Report Services is fully installed and functional. My question is whether it might be missing from the SQL Server 2008 Report Services installation for Windows Server 2008 or whether it might be placed someplace else. Though I have performed a search through the whole drive without the RSWebParts.cab. Thanks for you response anyway.

There evidently isnt a 64bit version of the RSWebParts.cab in the SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 x64 deployment on Windows Server 2008 x64. The Reporting Services\SharePoint folder doesnt exist in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\ path (this is the x64 application path). However there is an RSWebParts.cab in the following path C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Reporting Services\SharePoint (this is the 32bit application path). I originally, was unable to see it until I made changes in Win 08 file security permissions which for whatever reason hide this from me. I completed the installation of the RSWebParts.cab successfully using the x86 component. The blogs and Microsoft instructions for deploying the RSWebParts.cab for an SSRS 08 and SharePoint Server 2007 x64 deployments are incorrect. Hope this helps someone save some time.

With this in mind, how does one upgrade from the previous rewebparts to the new webparts? I tried to uninstall and I am getting wep parts are missing errors. Microsft needs to tidy up their documentation to help SharePoint admins so we aren't spinning our wheels all day.
