Missing Drive Letters after Task Sequence completes
Hi, Deploying W2K3x86 Ent R1 Sp2 via a Task Sequence (SCCM R2, MDT2010) via PXE. First steps of Task Sequence is as follows: Restart in Windows PE Format and Partition C (Disk 0, Standard(MBR) 131G fixed size, NTFS Quick, Make Boot) Format and Partition D (Disk 1, Standard(MBR) 100%, NTFS Quick, Primary, Name: DATA) Format and Partition E (Disk 1, Standard(MBR) 100%, NTFS Quick, Primary, Name: DATA) ....... and the task sequence goes along its merry way, noting successful steps for these and the rest of the steps. The additional Disks 1 and 2 are partitioned, but with no drive letters or label assigned. I can use Disk Manager to r-click and, for instance, assign drive letter D: to Disk 1 (using Change Drive Letter option), and it gets labelled as 'Local Disk'. Reboot and it comes up as Data - the name assigned from the Task Sequence. Both drives also have a 1kb hidden file called something like "_SMSTSVolumeID.7159644d-f741-45d5-ab29-0ad8aa4771ca" As I say, this works fine in other OS deployments we ave running from task sequences, unsure what is happening here? thanks Jon

Format and Partition D (Disk 1, Standard(MBR) 100%, NTFS Quick, Primary, Name: DATA) Format and Partition E (Disk 1, Standard(MBR) 100%, NTFS Quick, Primary, Name: DATA) Am I missing the obvious or is there a typo? Should the second line read "Disk 2"?
