Migrating from MOSS to WSS 3.0
hi all,
we hav developed a site using moss 2007 but later we found out that the hosting provider support ly wss and not MOSS
we de-activated the features of moss and took a backup using spd and tried restoring it ..but no luck we got the error as
"
The given key was not present in the dictionary"
the only option they gave us is to spd and no stsadm commands
they will do. how to go aboutt with this ?

It's really quite simple. You can't use backups to go backwards (as they require like to like - just as we know with hot fix and sp levels needing to be the same)and deactivating features isn't enough.
What I always suggest is that you try to do this with Save Site as Template(s) and if that doesn't work with Save List as Template(s).
These are as low-level as you can get and so most (probably not all) will work even when going backwards. The reason a save Site template might not work is that somewhere in it it might contain some MOSS-only thing in which case probably all except one of
the List templates from that site will still work.FAQ sites: (SP 2010) http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com; (v3)

even if you developed a MOSS site but at the end of the day it is a WSS site so you can do one thing as you said you have only SPD option
un install all the features used by MOSS and remove all the web parts used by MOSS make sure it has got only WSS collaboration features then try backup and restore by SPD

Hi,
Check this tool in Codeplex, http://stpinspector.codeplex.com/
Maybe not all the features or list type from moss are deactivated, save the site as a template with the content inside and run this tool against the template.
