Migrated Companyweb from SBS2003 to 2008 R2 Standalone
I have a unique issue with a Companyweb sharepoint site that was moved from a SBS 2003 with Sharepoint 2.0 to a Sharepoint 3.0 website setup on a 2008 R2 standalone server. The steps I followed were Jeff Middleton's SBS migration steps for SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 but I did not migrate the old data into a new Companyweb site which is one of the last steps Jeff does. The whole process of checking the exisiting companyweb site worked fine and I was able to re-attach the SQL database files into the Windows Internal Database and get the Sharepoint 3.0 to make a new site using the Windows Internal Database and the migrated files. When creating the site Sharepoint 3.0 upgraded the database and all appeared to be running fine. The issue I have now is that within the companyweb site for this client, there is a shared Admin task list. Users are able to easily view this site and see the task's that are still outstanding but if they try to create a new Task they are presented with a 403 Forbidden page. The 403 Forbidden page reports that the website may require them to logon. One other behaviour I noticed is that when browsing the companyweb site it does say Local Intranet for the zone up until creating a new task. When creating a new task it switches to the Internet zone. I tried adding the site to Trusted Sites but this behaviour did not change. We have been able to temporarily fix it by removing users from the Companyweb site permissions and readding them but it breaks again shortly after. I am struggling to find exaclty where this issue could be.

Hi Andrew, Did the task list inherit permission from its parent site or not? If you break the permission inheritance, please resume permission inheritance, then re-add the users back, check the effect. Did all user encounter this issue? Please use another user, such as site administrator, then check the effect. In addition, please take a look at the IIS log, By default, IIS puts its log files in the following location: %WINDIR%\System32\Logfiles, then post the detailed log information into the forum for further analyze.
