If I'm understanding your question correctly, user migration to a new domain would take place in Active Directory using ADMT.

Will the SharePoint farm reside in this new domain as well? If so, from what I've read the farm will need to be recreated in that domain as well. This would be a standard installation, central admin configuration, application and then site collection db restores. You could look into something similar to a cliconfg alias for a new SQL server, but not enough of an AD person to know if it exists.

If you're only adding a new domain to your existing farm's User Profiles, to synchronize your User Profiles with the new domain name, in Manage User Profiles, under Synchronization> Configure Synchronization Connections, add the new domain.

Hope that helps,

Scott
