Microsoft Word property promotion to SharePoint 2007 doesn't work if field value is a number
Hi,
I'm trying to promote values from a field in a Word document into a SharePoint library. I set my document up to use a Text Form Field which is tied to a Custom Property. I then created a column in the SharePoint library to match that custom property. When
I upload the document, the value in the field gets promoted unless the value is all numbers.
For example, if I enter "abc123" into the field, when I upload the document into SharePoint the value "abc123" gets promoted with it.
If I enter "123456" into that same field, the value is blank when I upload the document into SharePoint.
I see that the type for the custom property is automatically getting switched from Text to Number. Is there a way to prevent that from happening?
I'm using MOSS2007 SP2 and Word 2007, but I'm saving the documents as .doc files, which is a requirement. I can't switch to .docx.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
